what does acting mean

What does Talent in Acting mean exactly?

How do you know If you have it or not?How would you describe it?How do you know if you have it or not?Please help

I am an actor myself. I’ve learned the trade back in Israel. I loved acting, before acting school because of the applause. When I’ve got admittedd to the school, all the teachers and directors were stunned by my talent. some of them even admitted it to my face, some of them has just sent me a message through other classmates.
As I analyzed myself as a supposedly talented actor, this is what I can come up with>
If you go up on stage you loose the person , who lives outside of the stage, the more you can loose that civilian person and live in the character as deep as it’s posssible, finding every movement as is a natural act, plus yopu have a great energy flowing out of you, that captivates anyone who’s watching, than I think it’s called talent.
One time before a play where i had to act a kind of ousider i lost my talent for a while. How? I’ve got so stoned and drunk and no sleep , that the next day I couldn’t loose myself and I didn’t have the energy projected on the audience.
Of course my director had no Idea why i’ve become so bad, so him and my acting teacher called me in for a special private meeting. This is what they have told me after seeing my terrible performance.
” You know Rachel, talent can be lost very easily. Some people loose it if they don’t work hard enough to maintain it. You have to work twice as hard than others too keep your incredible genious. You were like an Athlete in it’s prime during his training, before the premiere, but it was like watching a cripple running on the big day. Talent is like a copper roof, it needs to be shined and worked on it all the time.”\
