Where is a good acting school anywhere in California?

I’m about to be a Senior in High school and I want to go for my dream of becoming an Actor but I would love to go to school in California or New York. Thanks.

Theater Doc is a bit cynical. No, majoring in theater alone will *not* make you an actor, but it *can* provide great training as a base. You can get great training from UCSD’s theater program, which has a professional partnership with La Jolla Playhouse. (Lots of Broadway-bound shows get their start at La Jolla.) Many casting directors and agents on both coasts recognize that a degree from UCSD’s program is nothing to sneeze at.

Can you be an actor after that? Maybe. Like I said, it’s just a base. You also need to polish your audition skills, become very business savvy, be able to sell your strengths, recognize your limits, and not be totally insane. And even then, the answer is still “Maybe.”
